Last meeting

LAST MEETING!!!!!!

We had our meeting that concluded our ending of the book. It kind of reminded me of our first meeting except is was about reflecting on the book than what was to come. We talked about what we thought about the book as a whole and then we talked about the book in sections. For instance we spoke about how the beginning of the book lacked in excitement but the middle of the book was by far the best part. I for one am pleased to finish the book, and to know the entire story.

this meeting was pretty good. Zoe was back however, her she didn't really put much into the discussion, she did however participate. Everyone else did really well and everyone read everything they needed to. We read the next book in the book. In the book we read Jim goes back to see Antonia after he completes his courses at harvard, and at the end of the promises to come back soon.

Some questions that we had:

How come Jim only goes for two years to college and the law school?

How does he obtain the horse and cart?

Will Jim and Antonia now get married?

Will Jim ever see Antonia again? If he does when?

What will happen to Jim in the future? Will he go to back to boston?

Who does he marry?

Some questions were fairly easy other we didn't know. We talked a lot about the future of Jim and Antonia. we figured they would end up as close friends but will live far apart.

DAY 6

It was a good meeting, however Zoe was missing from our group so the conversation wasn't as in depth as it usually was. We read the book Lena Lingard. it was very short and was an easy discussion. It was about Jim in Lincoln and his time with Lena. We talked about how Lena effects him in the future and about there relationship. we didn't have many questions, and for the one that we had they were easily solved. It was a good meeting overall.

This meeting was ok, we were a bit lost but we covered everything. we were all kind of confused on plot and what was going on in the book. This meeting to be honest was a bit lagging in effort and I don't really think that everyone put in there best effort in completeing the reading, but we all completed the reading and work. So far the book has come the end of the second book "hired girls" and we move on to the next book "Lena Lenigard". Hopefully we understand more of what goes on in this book than the last.

day 4

This meeting was good, and actually much better than the others over all. Everyone was involved and was very into the book. Everyone did their homework and read. We talked about the family and the switch of location, and how it would affect the plot. This class was very good, we all read our questions, and tried our best to answer and talked about our passages.

Over all it was a good meeting.

this meeting went really well and we talked alot about the characters. we had so many questions on who was who and how the book was going to continue. I think that everyone put in there best effort, and everyone was included in the conversation. Also, everyone conpleted all of there work.

Day 2

Day of meeting: march 8

Today's meeting i was assigned the roll of scribe. As far as i know we all read our assigned reading. We quickly got into the motion of starting our conversation. We started off by reading off the three questions we wrote down while we were reading. Zoe had questions that were based off the first chapter, and about Jim's life before Nebraska. Evan had questions about the beginning of chapter five and brendan also had a few questions which tied into each of ours.

We also talked about our passages. mainly everyone had their questions on their passages. Zoe talked of the first paragraph and Evan of chapter five, and Brendan of the first snowfall, and me of page twenty the last paragraph. we for a while switching comments on the book and different opinions and then we talked about the book in general. We talked of how we like the book overall, and we found that it may not be very exciting but there is a plot that is soon to unfold. We are all just waiting to see what will be happening. After that we talked more of the odd thing in the book and different questions we had other than the ones we talked about. One main question that threw us off was who the character Tony was. we soon figured out that Tony was actually Antonia's nickname, although none of us really caught that at first. we also spent some time looking at all of the visual things in the book, like the Bohemians house, we tried to picture it and clear up the air on how it looked. After spending some time on the setting we talked about each character. Each of us talked about our opinions on each character.

Overall we did our fair share and so far so good.
